Face it, trying to promote your garage sale in the same space where up to 50 other individuals, organizations or multiple-family groups are doing the same thing can be challenging. Your event’s advertising needs to position your sale to draw the most attention with a “whatever it takes” attitude if you want to stand a chance at drawing attention, making a profit and getting rid of your stuff!
Even the most novice advertisers and business-minded people know that sex appeal sells. No, we’re not encouraging anything “R” Rated here, but you should know that the way you advertise for your event could have a major impact on the success of your sale. One thing to remember: BE CREATIVE!
In January we blogged about the “Hot Sex” ad that was found tacked to a telephone pole by a couple walking through a neighborhood in Astoria, Queens – that certainly grabbed their attention – turns our it was just a creative way to draw people over to read the entire ad and hopefully get them to their garage sale around the corner.
