According to NY1 News, the famous and very popular Brooklyn Flea Market is expanding to the Williamsburg Waterfront. The Brooklyn Flea currently has two great locations based on the seasons, one indoors at One Hanson Place and for warm weather, one outdoors in the schoolyard of Bishop Loughlin High in Fort Greene.
The new site is approximately 1 acre in size and the Flea’s co-founder, Eric Demby, expects to see it filled with 120 vendors on April 3rd. The co-founders are excited about the new location as it offers both a scenic backdrop of the Manhattan skyline and an eclectic mix of vendors and shoppers.
Jonathan Butler, one of the co-founders of the Brooklyn Flea, is making an effort to bring in local produce. The current Brooklyn Flea venues offer an exciting weekend shopping experience, featuring vintage collectables, handmade crafts and food. The event also attracts many high-profile vendors.
The Brooklyn Flea will run from April through November in Williamsburg.
