The Upcycling Sophisticate

Today we introduce Linda Bingham, founder of The Upcycling Sophisticate. Linda is a country girl with a sophisticated style. A little glam, a little rusty, a little girly, a little dusty. A junkers, junker, a “Junkaprenuer.” As a true eclectic home spun artist where creativity abounds, come along for the ride and she will share with you some upcycling sophistication, home decor, and simple living through vintage and bling events.

I hunt and find items for people who want to repurpose them. I have a long list of clients who love to paint furniture or repurpose items, so most often a piece doesn’t sit in my warehouse very long before someone rescues it and breaths new life into it.  I do set up at shows myself but in the past 6 months the business has been turning to hosting trunk shows for those who want to sell their items.

My background is marketing, direct sales, entrepreneur, and junker so with the wonderful help of Mr. Upcycling we have taken the business to a whole new level, trunk shows. I am currently working on the first one in San Angelo, Texas but have already set my calendar on fire for 2014 branching out in other states!

We want to help small businesses succeed, help them market, promote, sale, teach them the ins and outs of how to make a living with their passion. Most often small businesses open and have no idea what to do next. We currently have about half of our vendors who are new to the business and ours is their first show. Through their texts and emails I can tell they are now have an excited nervousness. This is where we step in. Over the next few months we will be introducing different blog post about how to succeed, what’s next, basically a step by step guide to a trunk show success, how to display or merchandise their space, what they will need, how to respond to customers, etc. Our success is all based on theirs and we want them to walk away from The Upcycling Sophisticate Trunk Show with jingle in their pockets, a client list to work from, and  anticipating the next one.
