When was the last time you went to a garage sale while you were out of town? Never? If so, you should definitely give it a try the next time you’re traveling!
I’m about to head to Nashville, Tennessee on business, and I decided to plan a few hours into my trip in order to go to some local garage sales. Why would I want to visit a garage sale when I’m in the music mecca of the United States? The answer is simple: because I’m going to be in the music mecca of the United States.
The people there are bound to have a whole slew of music related items and memorabilia that I would never be able to find in Denver. People in Tennessee have had access to amazing collectibles that might never had made it out to my part of the country. Plus, I’ll be in the south. That means an entirely different type of collecting could be going on than in my home state. Different regions of the country have different histories and different interests.
If you travel a lot, or even if you don’t, you should consider spending an hour or two visiting some of the local neighborhood sales at your next destination. If you have the Tag Sell It App on your phone, all you have to do is enter your destination, and you’ll have plenty of sales to choose from! You can search close to your hotel or even near a conference center so you can sneak out on a break for a some quick treasure hunting!
I can’t wait to have a look at all the different items the Nashville locals are bound to have. I’m hoping to find some signed music memorabilia. I’d also love to find something civil war related since that’s one of my personal specialties. Hopefully I’ll stumble upon something I would never have found in my home state.
Good luck, and happy hunting.
